Our Beliefs

“The Church of Christ”

*All verses are from the NASB version- New American Standard Bible*

The Church of Christ is dedicated to the restoration of the New Testament Church.

By accepting the New Testament Authority:

  • Our authority is Jesus, God said “Listen to Him! (Matt. 17:5)

  • Jesus said “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth..” (Matt. 28:18.)

By Following the New Testament Plan of Salvation:

  • FAITH“But without faith it is impossible to please Him.” (Heb. 11:6.)

  • REPENTANCEunless you repent, you will all likewise perish. (Lk. 13:3.)

  • CONFESSIONwith the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom 10:10.)

  • BAPTISMHe who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved.” (Mk 16:16.)

    • We believe in full immersion baptism (baptism by submersion) –After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water (Matt. 3:16.)

By wearing the New Testament Names:

  • For individuals – The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. (Acts 11:26)

  • For church – All the churches of Christ greet you. (Rom 16:16)

By observing the New Testament Communion:

  • “This do in remembrance of me.” (Ll. 22:19.)

  • On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread…” (Acts 20:7 ; 1 Cor. 11:28.)

By Practicing the New Testament Stewardship:

  • “So also (Old Testament times — Malachi 3:10) the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.” ( 1 Cor 9:14.)

  • On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper… (1 Cor. 16:2.)

By living the New Testament Life:

  • They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42.)

  • “Grow in grace” (2 Pet 1:5-10 ; 3:18.)

  • Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Rev. 2:10.)

By Preaching the New Testament Gospel:

  • But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! (Gal 1:8 ; Mk. 16:15.)

It is not our mission to be another denomination, but rather to urge all religious people to return to the simple plan of God. It is our plea that this is a solution to the problems that confront a divided Christendom.
